Instant massage therapist: WheeMe

Can’t get to the massage therapist this week? Is it 2 a.m. and your back is tight and killing you? Have no fear, WheeMe is here!

WheeMe, a creation of DreamBots, is a massage therapist robot. According to DreamBots website, the little robot was designed to “offer the natural feeling of caressing, relaxation, falling asleep or even just tickling.”

The robot works by moving slowly across a person’s body to provide a gentle massage with its soft silicone wheels. Using its special tilt sensor technology the little massager won’t fall or lose grip while massaging. It’s being dubbed “a Roomba for your back” as it maneuvers around your back much like the vacuum is able to navigate itself around your carpet.

Since the little robot can fit in the palm of your hand and is pretty light, it probably can’t deliver a deep Shiatsu-type massage, but it can be handy if you need some quick relaxation.

The WheeMe hits the market this spring and can be preordered for $49 plus shipping.
